Homemade Salsa
Do you want to learn how to make salsa from scratch? Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for homemade salsa.
In my opinion, this is the only salsa recipe you will ever need. We eat this constantly because the kids and I make it a lot. In fact, it has gotten where people assume this is what we will be bringing the party. In the summer we grow a salsa garden with garlic, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapenos. I wish I could have a lime tree, but the weather in Oregon just isn’t good enough for a citrus tree.
Most recently my son how to give a how-to speech at school. He decided to teach everyone how to make salsa. How cute is that!
How to make homemade salsa:
Salsa Ingredients:
4-6 tomatoes
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic, pressed
4 jalapeños
2 serrano peppers
1/2 cup cilantro (Just the leaves picked off the stems)
2 tsp salt
1 tsp lime
Salsa Instructions:
Everything goes into a food processor to be blended. So chop up the ingredients based on what your food processor can handle.
We cut the stems off the jalapeños and serrano peppers, then slice them in half long way to take out the seeds. The more seeds the hotter, the less seeds the milder.
Blend all of the ingredients together. If the salsa is too hot, add more lime juice. If it is still too hot you may need to blend up for tomatoes up and then blend them in. That is the beauty of this recipe, it is easy to customize to your specific taste.
